American Cowgirls Gabriel Krekk’s AMERICAN COWGIRL #23 lana randall colorado
I grew up in the heart of the Arkansas Valley near Fowler, Colorado. My early years were spent between my mother’s small farm and grandfather’s ranch nestled in the canyons of southeastern Colorado. The time that I spent with my family offered me rich memories of the traditions and the love for the western lifestyle. My most treasured moments were the long days in the saddle as a child.  Those moments are where my solid foundation was built and my dreams of making the western way alive and strong again. My equestrian endeavors have been diverse over my lifetime.  These rich opportunities have allowed me to meet and work with many exceptional and gifted individuals and then in turn provided me with inspiration for my storytelling and photography. Whether it is through my published work, photography, designing or while I’m on the rodeo trail, I always love to connect with others and share my deep western roots. I have an obligation to my family and heritage to educate the importance of our industry as a whole, agriculture is the backbone of our beautiful country. Being at home with my family is my most cherished time. Together with my wonderful husband, Anthony and two beautiful daughters,  Mya and Jewel, we continue to live the western way of life. Agriculture is our life, our income is totally dependent on agriculture. Agriculture has provided our children with valuable lessons and values, rich with traditions. It is a great thing when a passion becomes a family business that will span generations.

Mya Randall, Anthony and Lana Randall’s oldest daughter, was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease and Rheumatoid Arthritis at a very early age. Crohn’s Disease is a type of inflammatory bowel disease that can be incredibly challenging. In Crohn's disease, a rogue immune system attacks the digestive tract, causing inflammation and tissue damage. It can be completely debilitating and life threatening.
Mya is taking her experience full circle, and has become an advocate for those also afflicted with the illness, and has traveled around the country sharing stories and experiences to help people realize they’re not alone and build a support system that helps them get through the rest of the journey. Mya shares that living with Crohn’s has only increased her appreciation for what is good in life, which balances out the bad. “I want to raise awareness for all of us going through the hardships that come with chronic illness and mental health battles. To give everyone a voice. To create a better society where people feel able to talk and be open about health behind closed doors,” Mya Randall. The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation is the largest non-profit, voluntary, health organization dedicated to finding cures for inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). The Foundation's mission is to cure Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults who suffer from these diseases.
